Actor Pee Wee Hermann Paul Reubens dies after battling most cancers “privately”

Famed actor Paul Reubens, the actor behind the character Peewee Hermann, died Sunday after battling most cancers on the age of 70.

“Paul bravely and privately fought most cancers for years together with his trademark tenacity and intelligence,” reads a submit on his Instagram profile. “Proficient and prolific, he’ll dwell eternally within the comedy pantheon and in our hearts as an expensive good friend and a person of fantastic character and generosity of spirit.”

In an accompanying assertion from Robbins himself, he apologized to his followers for taking his well being battle privately.

“Please settle for my apologies for not revealing what I’ve been going by way of for the previous six years,” he mentioned. “I’ve at all times felt a lot love and respect from my pals, followers and supporters. I’ve cherished you all a lot and I’ve loved making artwork for you.”

Robbins started performing as a slapstick comedian within the Seventies whereas attending California Institute of the Arts. For six years, he was a key member of the LA improv troupe “The Groundlings,” which is the place the Pee-wee Herman character was born.

In 1980, Robbins took Pee-Wee Herman to the following stage. With the assistance of his fellow Groundlings, he launches Pee Wee Herman Present On the Roxy Theater in West Hollywood.
